All Jeep systems include a full set of replacement spring-to-axle U-bolts, complete with heavy-duty flatwashers and self-locking nuts. If your Jeep has been modified with larger-than-factory axle housings, odds are that the U-bolts furnished in the Superlift Kit Box will not fit. If so, determine what special size U-bolts are needed, and consider ordering U-bolts, bushings, etc. a-la-carte instead of ordering the normal Kit Box. Urethane spring eye bushings are used on all but 1955-75 models; we have found that the factory type, steel encased rubber bushings work best on these applications. On all year model Jeeps we suggest that the bushings on the frame eye ends of the shackles be replaced as well. For 1946-63 models, factory equipped with the “sideways U” shaped spring shackles, we offer a shackle conversion kit. This improved design, the same basic design found on later model Jeeps, sandwiches the spring eye between two individual shackle plates made of 3/16” thick steel. Includes Grade-8 shackle bolts with self-locking hardware.
